With a strong background in art, publishing, and creative industries, Nurgül is recognized for her visionary thinking, innovative mindset, and ability to build bridges between artists and institutions. Her career spans over two decades of work in children’s publishing, editorial direction, business development, and creative direction — with a particular focus on picture books and illustration.

As one of Turkey’s leading voices in illustration and cultural entrepreneurship, she has:

  • curated over seven major exhibitions, including the Andy Warhol Istanbul Exhibition and Turkey Cultural Year in Budapest,
  • directed the editorial development of children’s books,
  • authored and translated numerous publications,
  • led educational programs and masterclasses across Europe on topics such as licensing, negotiation, illustrator rights, and sustainability in creative work.

Her work is deeply rooted in social impact, lifelong learning, and the creation of inclusive creative ecosystems.

Through her platforms and international collaborations — including her affiliation with the European Illustrators Forum (EIF) and SCBWI (Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators) — she continues to inspire, represent, and connect creatives across borders.
